Our Services

Colonoscopy

Examines the large bowel (colon) with a fibre optic camera on a flexible tube which is carefully passed through the anus. It may provide a visual diagnosis (e.g. ulceration, polyps, haemorrhoids) and allows for biopsy or removal of small polyps

Flexible Sigmoidoscopy

A procedure which examines the rectum and lower part of the large bowel with a fibre optic camera on a flexible tube. It may provide a visual diagnosis (e.g. ulceration, polyps, haemorrhoids) and allows for biopsy and removal of small polyps.

Gastroscopy

A test which examines the lining of the oesophagus (the gullet), the stomach and around the first bend of the small intestine – the duodenum.  The gastroscope is carefully passed through your mouth into the stomach, and may provide a visual diagnosis (e.g. ulcers, inflammation) and allows for biopsy.

Rectal Bleeding Clinic

We offer a dedicated Rectal Bleeding Clinic which entails having a Flexible Sigmoidoscopy and then a proctoscopy (short narrow tube with a light) if required where haemorrhoids can be treated using banding or a referral on for further investigation.

Consulation Clinic

If deemed necessary patients are offered a consultation with either the Consultant or Clinical Nurse Specialist prior to their endoscopy appointment.
